ROME

Just want to start this post by saying: I'VE MISSED YOU BLOGGER! I haven't posted in like a week and I am so so so so sorry that it has been so long but I've been in Rome and I didn't have much time to write a blog post or anything. I thought since I had been in Rome I should do a post on it especially since the fashion in Rome is AMAZING! In Rome there are some very different places to shop, it's like there are two sides to it. One is the EXTREMELY expensive designer shops that line Via Condotti and some of the streets around it. I was lucky enough to be staying in an apartment right in the centre of this area so I was able to window shop to my hearts content.

Then there is the other side to shopping in Rome and this is the FLEA MARKETS, and once again, I know, I have a market obsession. But seriously, you have to see these markets to understand. Row upon row and pile upon pile of heaps and heaps, and I really mean HEAPS of clothes. It's like clothes heaven, if you're willing to forget the fact that 99% of these clothes are completely and utterly disgusting. The only the way to find something vaguely wearable is to dig through the masses of pink, checked dresses and green stripy waistcoats and finally find something you like. But trust me, it is worth it. And this is because the majority of items are priced €1 - €3. I managed to buy a bangle, two jumpers, a t-shirt, jeans and coat for only €8! Right now these items of clothing are being THOROUGHLY cleaned in the washing machine but I'll show you them soon.

The last one is my brother in some incredibly sexilicious glasses

Finally, here are some more photos I took in Rome...

Ciao for now.

Roma and Vogue Italia

I'm going to Rome in a week and I am SO EXCITED! Most people don't really think of Rome when they think of fashion capitals, most people see Milan as the fashion capital of Italy. Milan is definitely the place in Italy for ready to wear fashion but what most people probably don't realise is that Rome is one of the couture capitals of the world, coming in just after Paris. One of the most famous streets for shopping is in Rome, Via Condotti which is a long stretch of shops for all the top Italian Designers including Dior, Gucci and Valentino. Now obviously I'm not going to be able to afford anything in this street but I'm going to do some serious window shopping! And do you want to know the best part? The flat I'm staying in is one street away from Via Condotti!

Another thing I'm very excited about in Rome is the markets. Now, if you're a regular reader of my blog you will know that I'm just a little bit obsessed with markets, and, luckily, Rome is a great place for them. The market I'm most excited about going to is Porta Portese. This market has been going on for about four hundred years! This market is a flea market and sells all different random things, from antique TVs to vintage shoes and from old paintings to 100 year old books. I am very excited about possibly finding some Italian designer vintage pieces that some one at the flea market has not realise the value of, so I am probably going to spend the whole day rummaging through piles of clothes!

While I'm on the subject of Italy I bought my Vogue Italia Spring/Summer Runway edition and there is a shoot in it that I am OBSESSED with. Possibly because it's with Keira Knightley who I am kinda of in love with but also because the photos and clothes are beautiful..

I love the slightly old look of the photos with the blurriness and graininess. The facepaint photos have a nice playful vibe and the clothes in all of them are AMAZING! Just want to end by saying
I LOVE YOU KEIRA KNIGHTLEY

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

New York Fashion Week has begun and already there have been so many collections that I love! Including

Nicholas K Ready-To-Wear

Gary Graham Ready-To-Wear

Organic by John Patrick Ready-To-Wear

But my number one favourite by far is

Vena Cava Ready-To-Wear

This collection is PERFECT! The look is quite sporty style, with leotard style tops and high waisted, wide legged trousers, but there is added glamour with the sheer materials and the leather. The style is a perfect balance of laid back casualness and harder edge. I also love the really messily applied sparkly eyeshadow.

Here are some items with the same sort of style at more affordable prices

Nylon Spandex Micro-Mesh Jumper Pant - American Apparel

Whistles Adeline Silk Harem Trousers - ASOS

BLACK PLEATED WIDE LEG TROUSERS - Topshop

SPECKLE ELASTIC CROP TOP - TOPSHOP

Urban Code Leather & Jersey Sports Varsity Jacket

Muu Baa Leather Shorts - ASOS

Boudoir Zip Front Lace Body - ASOS

Strappy Back Body - ASOS

SICILY Suede Block Heel Shoes - ASOS

Philosophy Suede Platform Heeled Sandals - ASOS

To get the same make up effect mix:
Petrol Black Dazzle Dust - Barry M
with
Charcoal Dazzle Dust - Barry M

and spread messily over eyelid and under eye using vaseline to help it stick and create a thick messy look
