It's now starting to come back into fashion, possibly due to Lady Gaga who's fashion and music is greatly influenced by Madonna. She dresses up as a nun in her Alejandro music video and her song Judas is related to Christianity too...
Designers such as Jeremy Scott have been influenced too as seen here on the SS11 runway...
Many shops and makes have picked up on the trend and are now using it too. There is one tiny problem though... isn't it kind of weird to wear a cross if you aren't christian? I think the trend is really cool and a chunky cross necklace can give an edge to any outfit, but I'm just not sure if I'd feel comfortable wearing another religion's symbol, some people may even see it as offensive. So, I haven't yet braved this trend but here are some pieces which I really like...

ReplyDeleteThat's interesting. I had always loved really gothic religious imagery myself and I like to dress in quite an extreme way but I had not noticed this trend appearing on the high street. Some of those things are absolutely beautiful.
