London Style

Just booked my tickets for London Fashion Weekend, and I am already SO EXCITED. I know it's only the fashion weekend, but maybe someday if I become a big enough blogger I'll be able to go to London Fashion Week. I know, never gonna happen, but I can dream can't I? So anyway since London Fashion Week and Weekend are coming up soon I thought I would do a post on 'London Fashion'

The main inspiration for 'London Fashion' is Punk Rock. Punk was most popular in the 70's but the look has definitely stayed, with skinny jeans, band t-shirts and Dr Martens being staple items in most Londoners wardrobes

Another style adopted by many Londoners is the 'Quirky Vintage' style. This style is a mix of vintage pieces and items from quirky boutiques layered on top of items from London's favourite shop, Topshop.
I don't think I know one Londoner who doesn't own an item from Topshop, even my Grandma shops there! The quirky style is all about accessories and layering, mixing and matching items that you wouldn't normally put together...

50's BUDDY HOLLY STYLE GLASSES - ROCKIT

'Nylon Sky' Wooden Deco Firework Necklace - ROCKIT

RED STACK-SOLED SUEDE CREEPER - URBAN OUtfITTERS

Then there's the more girly style, that is a bit more polished and put together. Lace, florals and pretty shapes are key in this look...

TFNC Lace Trim Rara Top - ASOS

    Floral Hotpant - ASOS

    VIBRANT BALLET PUMPS - Topshop

Motel Night Sky Print Peter Pan Collar Grace Playsuit - ASOS

The last style I'm going to mention is the 'boho' style, which is a little hippyish, with fringing, suede, and beads. Just remember tone it down so it doesn't look like dress up!

GREY FRINGED WASHED TEE - Topshop

CHOCOLATE SUEDE TASSEL CROSS BODY BAG - TOPSHOP

ANDREA BROWN SUEDE FOLD OVER ANKLE LACE UP BOOTS - TOPSHOP

Lamara Cropped Gilet - All Saints

All these styles have similarities, and can be mixed together. For example a pretty girly skirt, can look great with Dr Martens and a leather jacket to give contrast to the look. Also I know not all these styles are originally british, like the boho style is a bit American inspired, yet they are all styles that are worn a lot around London
